About Us

The Wolf Academy launched in 2019 as a hockey specific coaching organisation, delivering school holiday hockey camps as well as small group and individual coaching sessions to both junior and senior hockey players.

Co-founders of The Wolf Academy Will Hearne and Matt Godden are qualified teachers as well as experienced Level 2 Hockey Coaches. We are passionate about helping people to achieve their potential as both hockey players and as people.

We regularly work with players of all levels, from beginners and social players to athletes who participate at junior international level.

All of our sessions are based around our key principles:

creative

Encouraging players to be creative in their solutions to scenarios on the pitch by creating an environment which welcomes mistakes and encourages players to think for themselves.

encouraging

We support players to achieve their potential by creating a learning environment which is overwhelmingly positive and supportive. We believe in using this approach to get the best out of people.

fun

We understand that a fun factor is absolutely essential. As such, we build this into all of our sessions. No lines, no laps, no lectures – but engaging and fun activities delivered by coaches brimming with enthusiasm for the sport.
